Shamiana Tent

The Shamiana is an ethnic Indian tent which is very popular in India for outdoor parties or weddings. It has a flat roof with a lining of multi-color cotton patch work. The side walls (Kanats) are detachable and made up of multi-color dyed stripes. The tent can be built on the grass using bamboo poles and wooden pegs, or on the hardtop using a metal frame, with colorful cotton sheathes covering the poles.
